12.04.13 Trying to organise a UK PCC get-together - see my blog post !http://pcc.pm/profiles/blogs/pcc-get-together-in-the-uk-interested
It's happened in the shape of the Woodsetton School Playmobil Exhibition (16-17.2.14)
Hi, I'm Nick, married with 3 children, living in London, UK.
I've been collecting Playmobil since my first born was around 4 years old, and I also played with it as a child in the '70s, when it was 'Playpeople' here in the UK.
I thought I should do something with my Playmobil rather than just hoard it, and eventually I created a 48 page comic children's book called 'The Green Man' about the time-travelling adventures of Thomas Swift, which is now available to read on YouTube in English, French, German and Spanish. I also plan to put a flip book version up on the internet for people who don't want the music and sound effects! (Thomas Swift Productions is a totally non-commercial venture.) So, although I finished the book over a year ago, converting it into a video has given me a whole new creative outlet, and believe me, it's a lot of work. I hope to complete the project by the end of the year.
I was the winner of the first 'My Story' competition on Playmobil's Facebook page, winning the entire School theme! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpAKjQma35k&feature=player_embedded
I collect all themes - which is a bit of a problem space wise and money wise! I'm now falling behind with the new stuff. I have a lot of rare items, and quite a few armies, as well as a comprehensive collection of sets, but relatively only a small amount of it is MISB - I can't bear not to open a box - I love assembling Playmo!
I particularly enjoy exclusive or limited edition sets with special vehicle/accessory colourways or klickies.
I collect everything from year dot, but I do have a soft spot for the Medieval and Western ranges from the 1990s.
On my website I've been putting together a photographic record of every klicky bare-headed hairstyle - the ones where you don't need to put a hat on it!
It now looks like I'll be regularly doing a Playmo Display at Woodsetton School in Dudley. Our first event was held in Feb 2014 and we are already planning the next one!
If you would like to read The Green Man / Der Grune Mann / L'homme en vert / El Hombre de Verde as an electronic book, or presented as an audio-visual slideshow, see http://www.thomasswiftproductions.co.uk/read-the-green-man.php

Anyone in the UK interested in having a Playmo meet to discuss the hobby, show off customs, etc. - or even organise a display? Could be the start of something bigger?
The first meet may be very small - as I think there are only around 20 to 25 members in the UK, but I've been to / helped organise get-togethers from 3 to 30 people and they are always fun.
Send me a message or post your…Continue
