Fi?ures idea #48: Spider

This is another rushed drawing, so my apologies again!

My idea here was to make a spider-like woman. I was inspired by some of the other Playmobil figures that have the spider web design, and also a Lego toy I saw a while back (which is very similar to this design). The idea is that the Fi?ure (which has…

Fi?ures idea #47: Cupid/Eros

I haven't posted any ideas in a while, so I felt long overdue (I still have hundreds of ideas I just haven't put on paper yet). I drew this in a hurry (less than 5 minutes) - I didn't even do a sketch first, just drew what was in my head (so excuse the low quality). Likewise, excuse the poor picture quality - I don't have access to a scanner today, so I just used my old webcam.…

Fi?ures Ideas-Werewolf

I haven't drawn anything up but it would be good to have a werewolf. We have the vamps so its time for the wolves.

Fi?ures idea #46 - Marilyn Monroe

While "celebrity" Fi?ures aren't necessarily my favorite, Elvis was quirky enough for me to really like. I thought something that was iconic, but could still be any character within children's imagination was the way to go, so I decided on Marilyn Monroe. I tried to recreate her white dress from that famous scene in which a subway vent blows it up and she has to hold it down. For the bottom, I used the same skirt the series 2 fairy has (since it has the impression of movement), and the torso…

Fi?ures idea #44 - Chess Queen

I really like the special figure that members were sent – the white knight. I also really liked the idea of using the typically “princess” figure found in every Fi?ures series in a new and creative way – particularly the idea of a chess queen stood out to me. The white knight figure inspired the color scheme – all white. The only thing she needed was the right crown, so I drew something that looks like the top of a queen chess piece.…

Fi?ures idea #45 - Bodybuilder

I thought that a fun addition to the Fi?ures family would be someone with big, muscular arms - and thus, the bodybuilder was born. I used the male swimsuit mold, and gave him "new" muscle arms. The colors didn't scan accurately, but I used neons to give him that showy effect, and used the "tan" skin color, as most bodybuilders are very tan. I gave him a couple of dumbbells to lift, too, to stay in peak shape.…

Fi?ures idea # 42 - Lizard Woman

Yet again, I am a sucker for the female Fi?ures that have a bit of an edge or something non-traditional about them. I thought an interesting idea would be a lizard woman - hence this post. She is green all over, with "scales" and a lighter "underbelly" printed on - using the swimsuit mold. As a lizard, she needed a tail, so I though something that could be inserted - like the fairies' wings - on her lower half would be the way to go. In terms of accessory, she just seemed like she would…

Fi?ures idea #43 - Robot

Robots are not at all new to Playmobil, and the idea of a new Robot (drawing) had never occurred to me until I was wondering what the Playmobil face would look like if it were printed onto a cubic head. So, the only cube-headed application I could think of was an old-timey robot. So I sketched this guy out really quickly. I thought he needed sort of puffy arms to give him that robot feel as well, and plenty of electronic things printed onto him, as well as an antenna and some knobs on his…

Fi?ures idea #41 - Flower

I liked the idea of taking something that is a traditionally "girl" concept and making it a bit darker, or edgier. So, I decided on a sort of flower monster kind of woman. I thought some kind of wild hair suited her, and I felt light and grayish purple shades went well with green. I thought that she should have flowers for hands (just an image I really like), so her accessories are flowers that her hands fit into, with a crossbar inside - similar to the cheerleader pom-pom from series 2. She…

Fi?ures idea #40 - Glacier

Another idea I had for a Fi?ure, using the temple guardian molds from the adventure series, was a sort of glacier warrior/protector. I thought a clear (like the series 3 Fi?ure) or white base color with clear blue plastic armor and helmet would be the best way to go for the ice effect. For accessories, I thought the lightning bolts the aforementioned series 3 Fi?ure has would look like icicles if produced in clear blue plastic. I suppose a similar fabrication of the original temple guards'…

Fi?ures idea #39 - Coral Reef

I have been hoping the temple guardian molds from the recent adventure series will make their way into the Fi?ures lineup, but was wondering how they could be done in a creative way. In this case, I decided on making a sort of coral reef guardian/spirit, using bright colors - I just randomly chose red and orange shades for this one and gave him blue skin to stand out. For an accessory, I thought a piece of coral (which can be gripped in a couple of places) would be the obvious choice. There…
